Aars is going strength to strength, the cast starting really to play with the slightly bizarre material that I’ve given them. Yesterday we had a crowd in which pissed itself from start to finish and whooped it up at the end. Good job it’s a comedy, eh?
Everything lifting a notch or two. The music sounding better and better. Beauty and stupidity blended and celebrated. We’re ready now for big audiences: bring it on. The SMs and crew at Pleasance are a joy: generous and helpful and understanding with my incessant DIY on out gerry-built set.. Last night I dragged myself from my Aarsian reverie and attended Evolution by Nina Conti. It and she are very funny indeed. Charm and filth. What more can you ask for? And Sean Foley was there too – ex The Right Size, who has directed her show. Good to catch up with him and see him persevering with his George V beard. Brave. Today I ate beans with cheese in them. (That’s interesting, Chris. Ed) My neice Katy is up in Edinburgh this time, in a show called Going Down at Roxy Art House. Haven’t been able to get along yet, as our times clash, but here’s me bigging her and her show up.
